UBS has appointed Neil Hosie as global head of execution services, effective immediately, according to a staff memo. He assumed the role ad interim at the beginning of March.
Hosie started his trading career with UBS in London and moved to Hong Kong where he spent 23 years. Most recently, he was the global head of equities at Credit Suisse.
Hosie brings broad experience and global client connectivity across the execution services business, having overseen and worked closely with distribution, financing, research and ECM.
He succeeded Brent Johnson, who is retiring after over 26 years with the firm.
Co-heads of global markets Jason Barron and George Athanasopoulos note in the staff memo that Johnson has been a highly valued member of the global markets management team, successfully leading global markets execution services since its formation in 2021 and leaving the execution services in a great shape.
Prior to that, Johnson was co-head global markets execution and platforms and held a number of key roles in equities before the formation of global markets.
